After a year of closure, the Grail Moviehouse is preparing to reopen on April 2nd! The first showings will be short films nominated for an Oscar this year.

From the Grail’s website:

“Exciting News! A little over a year since our closure, we are now preparing to reopen to the public with scheduled shows of the OSCAR NOMINATED SHORTS! Check for our showtimes, open to the public starting on April 2. We will also keep scheduled private rental times during the week as an option for those of you not quite ready to return to a public screening. Check out all the information on our website about current titles, streaming titles, and curbside concessions!”

The Grail Moviehouse HIGHLY ENCOURAGES advance ticket purchases for in-person shows. Due to limited showtimes and very limited seating, shows may fill up quickly, and they can not guarantee a seat unless you have an advance ticket. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

“The Grail Moviehouse is following CinemaSafe precautions as follows.

This is an industry-standard program promoting protocols and guidelines developed and supported by leading epidemiologists to support a safe return to movie theaters.

A historic alliance of more than 395 companies representing over 3,000 locations and 33,000 screens nationwide have come together to commit to implementing these expert-backed, industry-specific health and safety protocols. This program, commissioned by the National Association of Theatre Owners, puts the health and safety of our guests and employees at the center of movie theater operations across the country.

Also included are suggestions for what you, the moviegoer, can do to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone.

If you have any specific questions, please email us at grailmoviehouse@gmail.com.

At the Grail Moviehouse, you’ll see us taking these steps:
* We are currently operating below 50% capacity with a maximum number of guests at any screening limited to 20.
*
For the safety of our guests, employees and communities, we require that face masks be worn throughout the theater. Masks should only be removed when eating and drinking while seated inside the auditorium.
* All shows will be socially distanced in our single screen. You will find yourself with plenty of room between you and the next party.
* We are strongly encouraging online ticketing for all shows, and tickets for pop up screenings will only be sold online.
* We are encouraging cashless transactions at the concession stand.
* All surfaces and high touch areas are thoroughly cleaned using EPA approved products before, between, and after showtimes.
* Our auditorium has seating below state mandated capacity requirements to ensure social distancing between parties.
* Hand sanitizer is available at all times at the concession stand and restroom.
* Fresh air through our open garage door and rear exit doors will be introduced between showtimes along with high efficiency filters in our HVAC system.
* Extended time between shows allows for thorough cleaning of the auditorium and extended exchange of fresh air.
* We can no longer fill water bottles or containers from home. We will still honor refillable large popcorn purchases but will be giving you a new bag for each refill.
* We will be propping theater doors at the end of the film and keep them propped until just before shows start to reduce shared surface contact.

EMPLOYEES:
* All employees are required to wear face masks and wash their hands frequently. Gloves will be worn when preparing snacks and will be changed regularly.
* All employees will do a wellness and temperature check upon sign-in.
* All employees will be trained on enhanced cleaning and safety protocols.

GUESTS
* All guests are required to wear face masks throughout the lobby and cinema. Masks should only be removed when eating and drinking while seated inside the auditorium.
* Anyone unwilling to wear a mask or removing their mask (except when eating/drinking in their seat) — or unwilling to wear a mask properly — will be denied entry or required to leave.
* Please do not come to the cinema if you are feeling ill or have known exposure to someone who is ill! If you have purchased tickets for an upcoming show and do not feel comfortable going out or feel ill on the day of the screening, you may request a refund or credit by sending an email to grailmoviehouse@gmail.com before the showtime. Include your name, movie, date, time and confirmation code. Please make this request with as much notice as possible so we have time to process it. We can not offer refunds after showtime.

We appreciate your continued support of the Grail Moviehouse. Let’s work together to keep Asheville healthy!”
