Hi-Wire Brewing is adding a third location in Asheville with a new taproom and beer garden in the River Arts District at 282 Lyman St.
The new location will be used mainly for distribution, but there will be a beer garden to seat 350 created with upcycled shipping containers.
Co-owner Chris Frosaker says, “We’re simply out of storage space at the Big Top. The fact that this perfect building is located in the heart of the River Arts District, which just received a massive infrastructure investment and a new greenway, is icing on the cake.”
The Big Top will still be Hi-Wire’s headquarters and location for most of the beer production. The brewery has expanded to what will soon be seven locations including Wilmington, Knoxville, Durham, and Lousiville. The South Slope location will be the creative hub of the company. Since opening in Asheville 5 years ago, Hi-Wire Brewing now distributes to eight states outside of North Carolina.
In addition to the covered outdoor beer garden, the RAD location will also have 24 taps on hand. Construction is expected to be finished by the summer.
