Get fresh at Freedom Days at the Farm.
Hendersonville’s Mountain Fresh Orchards will be celebrating July 3 – 5 from 9am – 5pm. It’s a chance to get fresh-picked peaches, blueberries, blackberries, half runner beans, okra and other fruits and vegetables. Plus, your family can take a ride through the orchard on the Apple Express.
“It’s a great way for folks to see the different apple varieties growing in the orchard”, says David Carland who Engineers the train. “Kids and adults alike love riding the train” says Carland. “It brings out the kid in all of us.”
The farm is following CDC guidelines, with one family in each car. The train will be cleaned between each ride.
While you’ll find 16 varieties of apples growing, you can also discover more than a dozen delicious items created from the fruit in the Mountain Fresh bakery, including breads, pies, jams, jellies, and those warm apple cider donuts.
The farms store is stocked up with crafts, too, including face masks, potholders, hand towels, wreaths and decorated glass blocks.
Mountain Fresh Orchards is located on U.S. 64, about two miles east of I-26.
