All self-respecting chili chefs will tell you the making of their masterpiece is an art. That’s why the galleries of Haywood County have come up with perfect recipe for a winter Saturday.
The 3rd annual Waynesville Chili Cook Off Stroll, hosted by the Jeweler’s Workbench, is Jan. 18 from noon to 4. Shops and restaurants located downtown, in Frog Level, and in Hazelwood are competing, and you can be a judge. Wristbands will be available for $5 at The Jeweler’s Workbench, Cedar Hill Studio, and Blue Ridge Beer Hub. You can also get them at any of the shuttle stops: Main Street at Miller Street, Frog Level Brewing, and Pink Regalia. Pigeon River Outfitters is offering complimentary shuttles so you can taste all around town.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Rotary Clubs of Haywood County and hte MANNA FoodBank backpack program.
