What’s With The Water Works? A Visit To Splasheville

Splasheville Offers Free Family Fun In Asheville’s Pack Square Park

If you’ve got kids and looking for a place to beat the heat, you can’t beat the price of Splasheville.

The interactive fountain in Pack Square Park is a great spot for free family fun. When the sunscreen starts to wear off, duck into the shade of the trees between the green and College Street, spread out a blanket, and enjoy a family picnic. Or, if you want to leave the food to someone else, visit adjacent Pack’s Tavern before getting kids hosed down, with kids meals priced at $4.50.

The fountains will be periodically shut down through the summer for maintenance and special events. Check the Splasheville Facebook page before you visit. The Asheville Parks and Rec Department does a good job of communicating schedule changes there. Splasheville typically operates 9 am until 8 pm through September.

In other water-related news, Buncombe County Rec Pools are now operating on their regular summer schedule. Find out more here.
